I have been using a Sonoff NSPanel Pro as the main display for my Home Assistant dashboard for quite some time. It worked well and looked neat on the wall, but as I added more sensors, graphs, and interface elements, the small screen started to feel limiting. I wanted something larger and easier to read without breaking the budget.
After looking around, I decided to replace the panel with a tablet. My goal was simple: find a device with a good screen, a slim profile, and a reasonable price. The Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE turned out to be the perfect match. There was one problem, though. I wanted to mount it vertically, and at that time, there were no ready-made vertical wall mounts available for the Redmi Pad SE.
I designed a vertical wall mount specifically for the Redmi Pad SE. The idea was to keep the mount as minimal as possible. I wanted something that looked clean and modern, with a very slim profile that would almost disappear once installed. Instead of enclosing the tablet in a bulky frame, I designed a pair of small clips that hold it firmly in place while leaving the edges fully visible. The tablet sits just a few millimeters from the wall, creating a floating look. It’s also very easy to remove and put back whenever needed.
I also included a small channel for the power cable, which keeps everything tidy and hidden. To make it blend even better, I used a thin USB-C cable I found on AliExpress.
I uploaded the design to Thingiverse so others can use or adapt it: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6811179
